Patrick Reed will have to face the music at the WGC-HSBC Champions event next week in China, his first appearance since putting some of his Ryder Cup teammates on blast after their drubbing to Team Europe in late September.

Reed went after American team captain Jim Furyk and former playing partner Jordan Spieth in controversial comments made to the New York Times, saying he felt blindsided when Furyk decided not to partner him with Spieth during team competition in Paris.

After the comments, an anonymous USA Team member reportedly ripped Reed, saying he was "so full of s---."

The 28-year-old will be making his fifth appearance at the event. In the 2014 edition, he dropped a homophobic slur and expletives after a missed putt and was fined by the PGA Tour.

The WGC-HSBC Champions event counts for both the PGA and European Tour, which Reed is a member of both. He currently sits third in the Euro Tour's Race to Dubai standings - Europe's version of the FedEx Cup - and is expected to play in Dubai next month, according to Bob Harig of ESPN.
