Brandt Snedeker opened the Wyndham Championship with an incredible 59 and never looked back.

The Nashville, Tenn., native carded a 5-under 65 in the final round at Sedgefield Country Club on Sunday, going wire-to-wire to record his ninth win on the PGA Tour and second career Wyndham title.

Snedeker's 21-under total gave him a 3-shot victory over Webb Simpson and C.T. Pan.

Simpson's 8-under 62 was the low round of the day, rocketing him up the leaderboard to tie as a runner-up.

Notables Hideki Matsuyama and Henrik Stenson finished T11 and T20, respectively.

With the Wyndham Championship being the final regular-season event of the season, many players were jockeying for position to reach the FedEx Cup playoffs and retain their Tour card for 2019.

Sergio Garcia finished T25 to put him 128th in the season-long points race, meaning he'll miss the postseason for the first time in his career.

Canadian Nick Taylor fired a blistering 63 on Sunday to climb within the top 125 in the FedEx Cup points list and earn a spot in next week's Northern Trust Open field.
