Analyzing 6 fun bets for Tiger's possible PGA Tour return

Tiger Woods' announcement Monday that he's been cleared for golf activities not only excited fans of the sport; it also created some betting lines with bookies.

Woods underwent anterior lumbar fusion surgery back in April, sidelining the 79-time PGA Tour winner for the remainder of the year. The 41-year-old hasn't said when he'll return to competitive golf, but it could potentially be just around the corner.

Here are six fun bets surrounding Tiger's possible return to the PGA Tour.

Make a PGA Tour cut again: 1-6

Woods didn't make it to the weekend in his only start of 2017, posting rounds of 76 and 72 at the Farmers Insurance Open, but neither did Jason Day or Dustin Johnson that week. In 2015, Woods made the 36-hole cut six times in eleven starts, so it seems likely he'll play 72 holes at least one more time.

Make the cut in a major again: 2-5

Only seven times in his career has Woods failed to make a cut in a major championship, but four have occurred in his last five starts. Even if Tiger doesn't have his best game, he's never missed the cut at the Masters as a professional, only doing so in 1996 as an amateur.

Hit the fairway with his first tee shot back: 4-6

The driver has never been his friend, even during the peak of his career. Woods hit 14 fairways in two rounds at Torrey Pines, while averaging 55 percent off the tee in 2015 and 2014. Woods' three opening tee shots all failed to find the short grass in 2017.

Win another major: 10-1

The Masters is Woods' best chances to lift career major title No. 15 and move closer to catching Jack Nicklaus' record of 18. Augusta National is all about course knowledge, and no one has more of it than the 41-year-old, who's won the green jacket on four occasions and has recorded nine other top-10 results.

Play in the 2018 Ryder Cup: 12-1

He'll not only have to play a full schedule, but Woods will need to perform really well in order to grab one of Jim Furyk's four picks. In fact, Furyk probably has a better chance of making the U.S. squad, sitting 38th in the American standings while Woods currently has no points to his name.

Get back to world No. 1 ranking: 50-1

No chance. Tiger is currently ranked 1,164th in the world.
