San Jose Sharks forward Evander Kane won't miss any games for his hit on Washington Capitals defenseman Radko Gudas.

Kane was fined $5,000 for elbowing Gudas on Tuesday night, the NHL's Department of Player Safety announced Wednesday.

The hit occurred late in the third period, and replays showed Kane catching Gudas with a blow to the head.

Kane was assessed a five-minute major penalty for elbowing and a game misconduct.

The 28-year-old winger served an automatic three-game suspension at the start of the campaign following a preseason incident involving linesman Kiel Murchison.
