Day 2 NFL mock draft: Projecting rounds 2-3

The first round of the 2025 NFL Draft lived up to expectations, and we're only getting started.
Day 2 begins Friday at 7 p.m. ET. Let's take a shot at forecasting how the second and third rounds may play out.
Round 2
Round 2 highlights
- Shedeur Sanders' slide ends at the top of the second round. The Browns trading down on Day 1 gives them a pair of first-rounders to chase a QB next year, but Sanders is still worth a shot. He can start right away in this offense.
- Will Johnson's fall is reportedly due to a knee issue. The Raiders are desperate for a corner, so they should be happy to gamble on the upside of an elite playmaker at the position.
- The Bears weren't able to land Ashton Jeanty in the first round, but TreVeyon Henderson is a nice backup plan in the second, giving Ben Johnson's offense a three-down weapon.
- Quinshon Judkins, the other star runner out of Ohio State, lands in Dallas. It feels like the perfect fit because the Cowboys have to address their backfield at some point on Day 2.
- The Chargers finding a long-term running back in Omarion Hampton in the first round and then landing receiver Tre Harris at No. 55 finally provides this offense some firepower.
Round 3
Round 3 highlights
- The Browns need a new running back with Nick Chubb potentially moving on and Kaleb Johnson could be a great fit in their zone system.
- While the Jets appear committed to Justin Fields in the short term, Milroe being available in the third round presents an interesting opportunity. Allowing him to sit and develop could give him a chance to make the most of an outstanding physical skill set.
- Expectations were that the Broncos would select a running back earlier in the draft, but Skattebo in the third round is just fine. He's an extremely physical runner who also offers some third-down upside.
