Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Rashee Rice exited Sunday's game against the Los Angeles Chargers with a right knee injury.

The second-year wideout appeared to sustain the injury after quarterback Patrick Mahomes threw an interception. Mahomes appeared to hit Rice's legs while attempting to tackle Chargers defensive back Kristian Fulton on the interception return.

Rice walked toward the Chiefs' sideline with some assistance. He was examined by the team's medical staff before being carted to the locker room with a towel over his head.

Chiefs head coach Andy Reid called the injury "not good," but wouldn't say anything further, according to NFL Network's Tom Pelissero.

The SMU product entered Week 4 as the Chiefs' leading receiver with 28 receptions for 288 yards and two touchdowns. Rice flourished in his rookie campaign, recording 79 catches for 938 yards and seven touchdowns during Kansas City's Super Bowl LVIII run last season.

The Chiefs have several options at receiver if Rice were to miss extended time, including Skyy Moore, JuJu Smith-Schuster, and 2024 first-round pick Xavier Worthy.

Rice is the latest player to get hurt on a Chiefs offense that lost Isiah Pacheco to a fibula injury and Hollywood Brown to shoulder surgery earlier this month.
