Report: Harrison, Nabers not expected to work out at NFL combine
Top wide receiver prospect Marvin Harrison Jr. isn't expected to take part in on-field testing at the NFL Scouting Combine, according to Albert Breer of Sports Illustrated.
Harrison instead plans to continue working out in Columbus with Ohio State strength and conditioning coach Mickey Marotti, adds Breer. He's also unlikely to participate in the Buckeyes' pro day, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.
Ex-LSU receiver Malik Nabers also won't participate in drills, sources told Rapoport. However, former Washington wideout Rome Odunze will take part in testing, Rapoport adds.
Harrison is expected to be the first wide receiver taken in April, while Nabers and Odzune are both viewed as locks to be taken within the top 10.
The combine runs from Feb. 29 to March 3 in Indianapolis.
Harrison reportedly doesn't intend to hire an agent. He would be the second high-profile player to opt against hiring representation after Caleb Williams, the presumptive No. 1 overall pick.
The 21-year-old Harrison established himself as one of the best receiver prospects of the last decade with an outstanding two-year stretch with the Buckeyes, producing 144 catches, 2,474 yards, and 28 touchdowns.
Odunze and Nabers finished 2023 first and second in receiving with 1,640 yards and 1,569 yards, respectively.
