Mahomes: 'I'll do my best' to chase Brady's 7 Super Bowl rings
Patrick Mahomes has his eye on Tom Brady's Super Bowl win record.
Ahead of his third Super Bowl appearance, the Kansas City Chiefs quarterback told reporters he'll work hard to catch Brady's seven championship rings.
"It'll be tough. I mean, seven Super Bowl victories, 10 Super Bowls, there's a reason that he's so far ahead of everybody else," Mahomes said, according to Pro Football Talk's Michael David Smith. "It's hard to do, but I'll do my best to chase it. I've got to start off with trying to win this one this week."
When asked if he thinks he might achieve the feat, Mahomes responded, "Ask me when I'm 38."
The 27-year-old will be looking for his second Super Bowl ring Sunday when the Chiefs face the Philadelphia Eagles in Super Bowl LVII. He won his first ring and earned Super Bowl MVP honors in 2020 during his second season as a starter.
Brady's seven Super Bowl victories are the most by any player in NFL history, followed by Hall of Famer Charles Haley with five.
