Seahawks release Josh Gordon
The Seattle Seahawks released wide receiver Josh Gordon on Thursday, according to The MMQB's Albert Breer.
Gordon, who's currently suspended by the NFL, recently agreed to join the Zappers in Fan Controlled Football. He was set to become an unrestricted free agent this offseason but asked Seattle to cut him before the new league year begins on March 17.

The 29-year-old joined the Seahawks in November 2019. He appeared in just five games that year - registering seven catches for 139 yards - before being suspended indefinitely for violating the NFL's policies on performance-enhancing substances and substances of abuse.
Gordon didn't take the field in 2020 after suffering a setback in his battle with substance abuse, which led the NFL to rescind his reinstatement.
The one-time Pro Bowler took the NFL by storm, leading the league with 1,646 yards in his sophomore campaign in 2013 despite missing two games. He also racked up 87 receptions and nine touchdowns that year.
His off-field issues have since kept him sidelined. The wideout has appeared in just 63 games over nine pro seasons.
Fan Controlled Football is in its inaugural campaign. The four-team league allows fans to call plays, and its games are streamed on Twitch.
