Report: Chris Hogan enters Premier Lacrosse League draft

Longtime NFL wide receiver Chris Hogan is entering the Premier Lacrosse League draft in March, reports ESPN's Adam Schefter.

Hogan, who spent most of the 2020 NFL season with the New York Jets, played lacrosse at Monmouth and Penn State before pursuing a career in professional football. In the past, the 32-year-old has announced himself as an alum of the Penn State lacrosse program during his Sunday Night Football introductions.

Hogan broke into the NFL in 2011 as an undrafted player. He garnered airtime on HBO's "Hard Knocks" series in 2012 while trying to earn a roster spot on the Miami Dolphins. Reggie Bush nicknamed him "7-Eleven" because he was "always open," but Hogan didn't make the team.

After a three-year stint with the Buffalo Bills, Hogan signed with New England Patriots in 2016 and won two Super Bowls in three years. He set a postseason Patriots record with 180 receiving yards in the 2017 AFC Championship Game against the Pittsburgh Steelers.

The Premier Lacrosse League played its inaugural season in 2019, beginning with six clubs before expanding to seven in 2020 and eight in 2021.
