The Cincinnati Bengals continued their offseason overhaul Wednesday, agreeing to terms with free-agent safety Vonn Bell on a three-year, $18-million deal, NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports.

Bell spent the first four seasons of his career with the New Orleans Saints after they selected him in the second round of the 2016 NFL Draft.

A versatile defensive back, the 25-year-old is best utilized near the line of scrimmage. He thrives in run defense and is also an effective blitzer. The former Ohio State standout amassed 89 tackles, 1.5 sacks, two forced fumbles, and one interception across 13 starts in 2019.

The reported signing adds yet another veteran presence to Cincinnati's roster. Usually passive on the open market, the Bengals continue to retool their defense after adding D.J. Reader, Trae Waynes, and Mackensie Alexander in free agency.

Bell will likely slot in at strong safety next to stout coverage defender Jessie Bates in the team's secondary this season.
