New York Jets running back Le'Veon Bell isn't guaranteed to play Sunday versus the Miami Dolphins due to an illness.

Bell missed his second consecutive practice on Friday, and head coach Adam Gase said he expects to know more about the three-time Pro Bowler's availability by Saturday, according to the New York Post's Brian Costello.

Bell, who's experiencing the least productive season of his career, has appeared in all 12 games for the Jets. The 27-year-old has rushed for 589 yards and three touchdowns while averaging 3.2 yards per carry in his first campaign since signing a four-year, $52.5-million deal as a free agent.

The Jets are also unsure of Jamal Adams' status for Week 14. The safety sat out practice for the third straight day because of an ankle injury, but Gase didn't rule him out, according to Costello.

New York and Miami sit third and fourth in the AFC East, respectively.
