Report: Patriots activate Edelman from NFI list

The New England Patriots activated wide receiver Julian Edelman from the non-football injury list after he passed a physical on Monday, a source told ESPN's Field Yates.
Edelman was sidelined for the first half of August while recovering from a thumb injury suffered prior to training camp.
The veteran led all Patriots pass-catchers with 850 receiving yards a season ago, even while playing only 12 games. He missed four contests after failing a drug test.
The 33-year-old capped his 2018 campaign with a Super Bowl LIII MVP award. He signed a two-year, $18-million extension with New England in May.
