Report: Colts claim D'Onta Foreman off waivers

Shanna Lockwood / USA TODAY Sports

The Indianapolis Colts claimed running back D'Onta Foreman off waivers from the Houston Texans, sources told NFL Network's Tom Pelissero.

Foreman was released Sunday reportedly for poor work habits.

The 23-year-old had 327 rushing yards and two touchdowns on 78 carries in his rookie campaign before suffering a torn Achilles in November 2017. He missed nearly all of 2018 while rehabbing but was expected to be the primary back this season behind Lamar Miller.

The Colts' backfield is currently led by Marlon Mack, Nyheim Hines, and Jordan Wilkins.

Indianapolis placed running back Spencer Ware on the reserve/PUP list on Saturday due to ankle surgery. He'll reportedly be released through an injury settlement and hopes to continue playing for another team in 2019.
