The Washington Redskins and rising defensive lineman Matt Ioannidis agreed to a three-year contract extension worth a base value of $21.75 million, a source told Mike Garafolo of NFL Network.

The deal reportedly includes an additional $3 million in incentives. It also contains $14 million guaranteed, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.

Ioannidis, a former fifth-round pick, was set to enter the final year of his rookie pact. The 25-year-old racked up 31 tackles and 7.5 sacks last year, sending his stock upward.

Washington has invested heavily in its defensive line over the last couple of years, using first-round picks on Jonathan Allen and Da'Ron Payne, respectively, in back-to-back drafts.
