Baltimore Ravens quarterback Joe Flacco is inactive for Sunday's game against the Kansas City Chiefs, the team announced.

Flacco has missed the Ravens' past three games due to a hip injury, but he returned to practice this week and looked good, fuelling optimism he'd be able to back up rookie Lamar Jackson and potentially play some snaps, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.

Jay Glazer of FOX Sports adds that Jackson was "going to fully be the guy" regardless of Flacco's status, and the rookie is now the team's No. 1 quarterback.

Jackson has led the Ravens to three consecutive victories while filling in for Flacco. Baltimore holds a 7-5 record, and the team occupies second place in the AFC North.

Veteran Robert Griffin III will continue to serve as Jackson's backup for Week 14. He briefly entered last week's game against the Atlanta Falcons while Jackson was being checked for a concussion.

Flacco last played against the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 9, completing 23 of 37 passes for 206 yards and no touchdowns or interceptions.
