Hines Ward 'a little embarrassed' by Antonio Brown's antics

Beloved Pittsburgh Steelers great Hines Ward cringed over the recent antics of star receiver and former teammate Antonio Brown.

"I'm a little embarrassed in the sense that that's not the Steelers' culture," Ward told Zach Gelb of CBS Sports Radio. "We're not really big on kind of having off-the-field issues with a lot of different guys."

Brown is coming off a chaotic week that began Sunday during the Steelers' loss to the Kansas City Chiefs. The six-time Pro Bowler was seen feuding on the sideline with offensive coordinator Randy Fichtner, then left the locker room after the game without speaking to reporters. Brown failed to show up for work the next day and tweeted about being traded.

"I understand he's a passionate guy and wants to win more than anybody in the world, but in this case I kind of think he's wrong for the outburst," said Ward. "When things aren't going good, a lot of people look at the leaders on your team ... they want to see how you respond to adversity. It's something that I wouldn't have done. I get it, you're frustrated. You want to win. But having outbursts like that doesn't do anybody any justice."

Ward and Brown - whose careers overlapped for two years - rank first and second, respectively, in both receiving yards and touchdowns in the franchise's history. Ward won two Super Bowls and made four Pro Bowls over his career with the Steelers.

Brown has been far from the only source of drama in Pittsburgh this season, though. Quarterback Ben Roethlisberger and running back Le'Veon Bell are among the other Steelers stars who've produced a fair share of distraction-worthy headlines over the last several months.

The Steelers own a 0-1-1 record heading into Monday night's tilt with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
