The Minnesota Vikings announced Friday that running back Dalvin Cook and defensive end Everson Griffen have been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Buffalo Bills.

Cook's absence is due to a hamstring injury. The 23-year-old sophomore has rushed for 78 yards on 26 carries through two weeks. He's added 107 receiving yards on nine catches.

Backup running back Latavius Murray will be expected to step into the lead role for Minnesota.

Griffen will miss his first game of the year due to a knee injury. He's recorded one sack and one pass defensed while starting each of the first two games.
