Report: Dolphins' Tannehill restructures contract to give team more cap space

Gary A. Vasquez / USA TODAY Sports

Miami Dolphins quarterback Ryan Tannehill has restructured his contract, giving his team more cap space for the upcoming season, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.

Although Tannehill received assurances from head coach Adam Gase that he would remain the team's starting quarterback, many had believed the Dolphins were looking in a different direction for the 2018 season.

Tannehill missed the entire 2017 season due to a torn ACL suffered in August, but it appears Miami will stick with him as their man.

During the 2016 season, he completed 67.1 percent of his passes for 19 touchdowns against 12 interceptions.
