Report: Bills could explore Taylor's trade market in offseason
The Bills stripped Tyrod Taylor of his starting job this week, but Buffalo reportedly believes the quarterback still has value it could exploit.
Taylor is due a $6-million roster bonus on the third day of the 2018 league year and it was assumed the Bills would decline it, making him a free agent. However, Buffalo believes Taylor has trade value and could explore his market before making a decision on his option, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.
The veteran pivot's $10-million base salary in 2018 is far below market value, so it's possible teams would be interested in trading for him, as they would not only get him on a bargain deal but also eliminate the risk of losing out on him in free agency.
Rookie Nathan Peterman will start in Week 11 in place of Taylor.
