The vaunted 'Legion of Boom' is finally at its most vulnerable.

Kam Chancellor and Richard Sherman will miss Monday's game against the Atlanta Falcons, leaving Earl Thomas as the lone member from the Seahawks' legendary secondary available for the contest. Thomas himself is working his way back from a hamstring injury, and he reflected on his team's current situation Friday.

"Yeah, slowly but surely, we are getting thin as far as that group," Thomas said to Bob Condotta of The Seattle Times. “You can’t control that. It’s the nature of the game. It’s a violent game and guys play 100 percent every play, so it happens. But the younger guys, you know it is going to be a culture, because we have set the standard. They see it, the way we practice, they see it. Even when we are gone, they are still going to be good.”

Sherman hadn't missed a game during his career prior to suffering a season-ending ruptured Achilles Nov. 9, while Chancellor could miss the remainder of the year with a neck injury.

Thomas spoke about the changing nature of the defense and how they'll have to be more attentive than usual.

“Just in general with Sherm and Kam, Cliff, we got new guys in new spots, so we have to be on the same page and communication plays a big factor,’’ Thomas said.

With the Seahawks looking to keep pace with the Los Angeles Rams, it'll be on the team's younger players to help their team remain afloat in the NFC playoff race.
