Report: Lynch appeal heard, decision expected Tuesday

Kelley L Cox / USA TODAY Sports

Oakland Raiders running back Marshawn Lynch had his appeal regarding a one-game suspension heard Monday, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.

Lynch was issued a one-game ban for running onto the field and subsequently making contact with an official during Thursday's game against the Kansas City Chiefs. A decision is reportedly expected Tuesday.

Chiefs cornerback Marcus Peters reportedly testified on Lynch's behalf. Peters, a fellow Oakland native, considers Lynch a close friend.

Lynch reportedly argued that Los Angeles Rams defensive tackle Aaron Donald and Tennessee Titans offensive tackle Taylor Lewan were among nine players who made contact with an official, none of whom were suspended.

If Lynch's suspension is upheld, expect Jalen Richard and DeAndre Washington to battle for carries against the Buffalo Bills.
