Browns' Kessler replaces ineffective Kizer

Tommy Gilligan / USA TODAY Sports

The quarterback carousel continues for the Cleveland Browns.

Cody Kessler replaced DeShone Kizer in the third quarter of Sunday's game against the Tennessee Titans.

Kizer finished 12-of-20 for 114 yards, no touchdowns and two interceptions, prompting head coach Hue Jackson to bench him in favor of Kessler.

The Browns have yet to find stability at quarterback this season. Kevin Hogan started last week's 33-17 loss to the Houston Texans but performed so poorly, he was relegated to third-string duty.

Kizer, selected in the second round of the 2017 NFL Draft, won the starting quarterback role during the preseason, and started the Browns' first five games before ceding the job to Hogan. Sunday marked Kizer's sixth start of the year, and it appears that the Browns will need to make another executive decision following Sunday's game against the Titans.
