Report: 'Highly unlikely' Tiger-Cats sign Manziel

Johnny Manziel's chances of suiting up in the CFL don't appear to be great at the moment, as it's "highly unlikely" the Heisman Trophy winner will land a contract with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats, a source told TSN's Dave Naylor.

The Tiger-Cats, who own Manziel's negotiating rights, reportedly worked out Manziel in search of a fix to a dreadful 0-8 start, but saw too many red flags surrounding his training regimen and dedication to the sport.

While Hamilton isn't showing any desire to employ Manziel, the club could trade his rights to a different team interested in his services, provided he demonstrates the ability to keep his off-field issues in the past.

After starting six games for the Cleveland Browns in 2015, the team released Manziel, ending, for now, what was a rocky two-year NFL career.
