Patriots' Ninkovich comically defends Patricia's anti-Goodell shirt
While Roger Goodell is reportedly still upset at New England Patriots defensive coordinator Matt Patricia wearing a shirt mocking him after Super Bowl LI, defensive end Rob Ninkovich brought up a solid point in his coach's defense.
People need to wear clothes.
Ninkovich and the Patriots clearly don't seem worried about any potential repercussions from Goodell as the veteran defensive end spoke fairly comically about the shirt.
"Everyone has the right to wear whatever shirt they want," Ninkovich said, according to the Boston Herald. "Everyone has to wear a shirt, right? You can't just wear no shirt.
"I think someone threw it at (Patricia), and he said, 'All right, nice shirt, it's cool, it's blue, so I'll put it on.' I thought it was a funny shirt."
Patricia wore a T-shirt depicting Goodell as a clown that was seen on television as the Patriots got off their flight back from Houston after the Super Bowl.

Ninkovich says people can take the message however they please, but he thought it was a good shirt.
"I don’t think it’s a big deal," Ninkovich said. "People want to take it how they want to take it. If you really think about it, everyone has to wear clothes, so you just put a shirt on, and you know, it is what it is.
"I think it’s a nice shirt. It’s blue. I love blue. My favorite color is blue."
