The Milwaukee Bucks placed Damian Lillard in concussion protocol and ruled him out for Tuesday's game against the Toronto Raptors, the team announced.

Lillard took a hit to the head late in the third quarter of Sunday's contest against the Boston Celtics, sources told NBA insider Chris Haynes.

The All-Star guard experienced headaches and dizziness Monday and subsequent tests confirmed a concussion, adds Haynes.

Lillard could play Wednesday versus the Detroit Pistons if he clears the NBA's concussion protocol, according to Haynes.

Lillard is averaging 26 points and 6.6 assists per game in his second campaign with the Bucks. The 34-year-old is shooting 44.4% from the field and 34.8% from deep, which is in line with his efficiency from his first season in Milwaukee.

The Bucks carry a 2-8 record into Tuesday's game, which marks the first contest of the 2024 NBA In-Season Tournament.
