Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban is doing his part to help local businesses that are being impacted by the coronavirus outbreak.

Cuban tweeted that he'll be following the lead of customer intelligence and research platform CivicScience by reimbursing employees who purchase breakfast or lunch from a local, independent business.

"At a time when people may feel the financial strain of business closures, social distancing, and more, supporting our local community is even more important," Cuban said in a statement. "While encouraging my team to take care of themselves and those around them and use healthy practices, I also encourage them to support our local North Texas businesses, and I am happy to partner with Dallas Mavericks staff to do so."

Cuban was one of the first NBA owners to offer support to hourly workers after the league announced it was suspending its regular season last week.
