Despite being a former No. 1 overall draft pick and a two-time NBA All-Star, Minnesota Timberwolves center Karl-Anthony Towns still goes unrecognized at times.

Towns shared a story Wednesday on Twitter about a humorous encounter he had with a stranger at an Equinox gym who apparently had no idea he was an NBA player.

The 7-foot Towns played basketball at St. Joseph High School in Metuchen, New Jersey, and led his team to a state championship in 2012. He was named to the Dominican Republic national team at the age of 16 before spending one season at the University of Kentucky and then entering the NBA.
