A high school basketball jersey worn by Barack Obama is being auctioned off later this summer.

The 1978-79 Punahou High School (Hawaii) jersey will be included in Heritage Auctions' Summer Platinum Night Sports Collectibles Auction, which runs Aug. 17-18. It's expected to fetch at least $100,000.

Punahou was throwing away uniforms a few years after Obama graduated when a student recovered it from the trash, according to Intelligent Collector. He didn't realize it belonged to the 44th President of the United States until decades later.

Obama, then known as "Barry O'Bomber," played on both the junior varsity and varsity teams at Punahou, winning the state championship in 1979.

"I loved his game," Obama's former teammate Mark Bendix told NBC Sports' Corky Siemaszko in 2017. "He had a pretty good shot and really handled the ball well."
