The Hall of Fame is next for Bill Goldberg.

WWE announced Monday the former WWE Universal Champion and WCW Champion as the first 2018 inductee into the WWE Hall of Fame. He will be honored April 6 in New Orleans during WrestleMania 34 week.

"Goldberg’s unique athleticism, persona, and intensity captured the imagination of sports entertainment fans around the world throughout his illustrious career," said Paul Levesque, aka Triple H, WWE Executive Vice President, Talent, Live Events & Creative. "We are honored to have Goldberg take his rightful place in the WWE Hall of Fame."

After a football career highlighted by a three-year stint with the Atlanta Falcons, Goldberg transitioned to professional wrestling and quickly became one of the most dominant stars in WCW history, racking up a win streak that spanned more than a year.

His storied career continued in WWE, where he captured both the World Heavyweight Championship and Universal Championship almost 14 years apart.
