Jared Wright and Rieger Lorenz netted second-period goals as third-ranked Denver defeated top-seeded Boston College 2-0 on Saturday to claim the national championship in men's hockey.

It's Denver's second title in three years after prevailing over Minnesota State in the 2022 final. It has also won three of the last seven national championship games. The NCHC squad took home the title in 2017 by beating Minnesota Duluth.

Pioneers goaltender Matt Davis was named Most Outstanding Player for the tourney. Five of the six players on the All-Tournament team played for Denver.

Position Player Team
F Rieger Lorenz Denver
F Tristan Broz Denver
F Will Smith Boston College
D Zeev Buium Denver

G Matt Davis Denver

Davis stopped all 35 shots he faced in Saturday's victory. Eagles netminder Jacob Fowler faced only 24 shots in defeat.

Boston College hasn't won a national championship since 2012, when the Eagles beat Ferris State in the title game.

Denver defeated Massachusetts, Cornell, and Boston University to get to the final. Boston College beat Michigan Tech, Quinnipiac (the 2022-23 champions), and Michigan before falling in the decisive tilt.
