Report: Arizona loses Davis, Johnson to transfer portal

Arizona cornerback Tacario Davis and defensive back Dalton Johnson entered the transfer portal, according to reports from ESPN's Max Olson.

Davis, who stands 6-foot-4, possesses above-average size and speed at cornerback. He started 11 games and appeared in 13 games during his 2023 campaign. He was named to the All-Pac 12 second team after racking up 15 passes defended and 25 total tackles.

Davis continued his stellar play this season by chipping in with 44 tackles and six passes defended on his way to being named a second-team All Big 12 selection.

The Long Beach, California, native recorded 76 total tackles, 22 passes defended, and one interception over three seasons at Arizona.

Johnson, meanwhile, was a two-year starter at safety for the Wildcats. The Texas native posted a team-leading 94 tackles and finished the 2024 season tied for third on the team with five tackles for loss.
