Watch: Missouri botches win twice in gutting loss to Auburn

Despite multiple chances to secure a victory in its SEC conference opener against Auburn on Saturday, Missouri just couldn't come up with a win.

Missouri used its final offensive possession in the fourth quarter to set up a 26-yard field-goal attempt to clinch a victory over Auburn. However, kicker Harrison Mevis pushed the game-winning kick right, leaving the game even at 14 points apiece at the end of regulation.

Despite the late miscue, head coach Eli Drinkwitz's team had another opportunity to win after holding Auburn to a field goal on the first possession of overtime.

Running back Nathaniel Peat broke free on second down, finding space along the sideline to cruise past Auburn's defense. But Peat fumbled the ball into the end zone before he could stretch across the goal line, and Auburn recovered it for a touchback, sealing a 17-14 win.

The dramatic finish dropped Missouri to 2-2 on the season, while Auburn improved to 3-1.
