Kentucky is down 18 players due to COVID-19 and injury issues ahead of Saturday’s contest against No. 6 Florida, according to Adam Rittenberg of ESPN.

The Wildcats are also without 10 staff members, Rittenberg adds.

Kentucky head coach Mark Stoops said the team "can't afford any more" personnel losses. The program will undergo additional COVID-19 testing Thursday.

"Every day, you're just holding on," Stoops said. "Every time my trainer and (chief of staff) Dan (Berezowitz) come walking down my hall, I'm like, 'Please, stay away.' Trying to keep my distance from those guys. We're getting people dinged a couple times a day."

The Wildcats were missing 10 players - including five starters - during last weekend's 63-3 rout at the hands of No. 1 Alabama.

Kentucky has already rescheduled matchups against Georgia and Missouri due to the ongoing pandemic. However, the team has played eight games to date.

The Wildcats are currently scheduled to end the regular season with a home matchup against South Carolina on Dec. 5.
