It appears Justin Fuente is staying at Virginia Tech for at least one more year.

After a report surfaced Tuesday that Fuente was Baylor's primary target to replace Matt Rhule as head coach, the Hokies boss tweeted a picture Thursday that alluded to preparations for the 2020 season.

Rhule jumped to the NFL this offseason to become head coach of the Carolina Panthers, leaving the Bears searching for their next coach.

Fuente is coming off his fourth season at Virginia Tech, where he's compiled a 33-20 record. He came to the Hokies on the heels of two strong campaigns at Memphis.

With the 43-year-old seemingly off its radar, Baylor could turn its attention to LSU defensive coordinator Dave Aranda or Louisiana-Lafayette coach Billy Napier, according to Sports Illustrated's Ross Dellenger. The Big 12 squad might also promote assistant Joey McGuire.
