The NCAA concluded its investigation of Ohio State defensive end Chase Young's rule violation and determined that he should be withheld for one additional game, the school announced Wednesday.

Young was kept out of the Buckeyes' previous contest, last week's throttling of Maryland, while the NCAA looked into a loan the junior accepted from a family friend in 2018. He will also miss Saturday's matchup with Rutgers.

The loan was reportedly used to help Young's girlfriend fly to attend the Rose Bowl and has since been repaid.

The suspension was expected to amount to four games before Ohio State appealed for Young's immediate reinstatement. He'll now be available for highly anticipated Big Ten matchups with Penn State and Michigan later in November.

Young leads the FBS in sacks (13.5) and is seventh in tackles for loss (15.5). The 20-year-old is coming off a performance against Wisconsin in which he tied Ohio State's single-game records for sacks (four) and tackles for loss (five).

Many are touting Young as a candidate to win the Heisman Trophy, which would make him the first solely defensive player to take home the award. The Maryland native is also considered the No. 1 prospect in the 2020 NFL Draft.
