Miami safety Derrick Smith entering transfer portal

Miami Hurricanes safety Derrick Smith announced on Twitter on Tuesday night that he's leaving the university and entering the transfer portal.
Smith missed practice Tuesday due to a personal matter, a team spokesperson said, according to David Furones of the South Florida Sun Sentinel.
The junior safety recorded 11 tackles in six games last season and 13 tackles the year prior.
