Bowl schedule released; 16 days between CFP semis, national title

More than two weeks will pass between the College Football Playoff semifinals and the national championship game, according to a bowl schedule released Thursday by ESPN.
The national semifinals will take place Dec. 28, while the championship game is set for 16 days later on Jan. 13 at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans.

Only the Redbox Bowl and Holiday Bowl are still waiting to receive dates, according to FBSchedules.
One bowl game is scheduled for Christmas Eve (Hawaii Bowl), while none are on the docket for Christmas Day.
