Vanderbilt has signed head coach Derek Mason to a contract extension, the school announced Friday. Details of the deal were not disclosed.
Mason has gone 24-38 in five campaigns with the SEC East outfit, never finishing at or above .500 in a season.
The Commodores finished 6-7 in 2018, ending the year with three wins in their last four regular-season games, including a victory over rival Tennessee in the finale.
Mason is just the second coach in school history to lead Vanderbilt to multiple bowl games. The Commodores lost this season's Texas Bowl to Baylor.
