Notre Dame's Brian Kelly was named the 2018 Home Depot Coach of the Year on Wednesday after leading the Fighting Irish to a 12-0 record and the College Football Playoff.

Kelly will receive his award Thursday at the College Football Awards show.

It's the third time in Kelly's career that he's won the Home Depot Coach of the Year award. He took home the honor in 2009 after orchestrating a perfect season in his last year at Cincinnati, and in 2012 at Notre Dame.

The award completes a two-year turnaround for Kelly, who was on the hot seat after going 4-8 in 2016.
