Report: Utah State's Wells in negotiations to coach Texas Tech

Utah State coach Matt Wells is negotiating with Texas Tech to take over as head coach, sources told the Lubbock Avalanche-Journal's Don Williams.
A deal with the 45-year-old Wells isn't complete, but it's expected to happen after he interviewed with Texas Tech on Tuesday, according to Yahoo! Sports' Pete Thamel.
Wells led Utah State to a 10-2 record this season. He's amassed a 44-34 record across six campaigns with the team.
Texas Tech dismissed former head coach Kliff Kingsbury on Sunday after six seasons. Under Kingsbury, the program posted a 35-40 record and went 5-7 this year.
