LSU linebacker Devin White was ejected from Saturday's game versus Mississippi State for targeting in the fourth quarter.

Since White's penalty occurred during the second half, the junior will be forced to miss the first half of the Tigers next game on Nov. 3 against Alabama, due to the NCAA's targeting rules.

The SEC confirmed that the team cannot appeal the foul, according to Sports Illustrated's Ross Dellenger.

The call sparked a considerable amount of controversy during the game, as White appeared to push Bulldogs quarterback Nick Fitzgerald, rather than lead with his head.

White's loss is a massive blow to LSU's defense as they will face the Crimson Tide's No.1-ranked offense after its bye week.

The dynamic linebacker has accumulated one sack, one forced fumble, and two fumble recoveries in 2018.
