Never in the history of Ohio State football has there been a three-time captain - until now.

The Buckeyes announced their captains for the 2017 season Monday, and quarterback J.T. Barrett found himself on the list for the third time in his career. In reaching that milestone, Barrett separates himself from other two-time captains and Buckeyes legends that include Archie Griffin, Glenn Cobb, James Laurinaitis, and Braxton Miller, according to Ryan Connors of Land of 10.

Barrett is entering his final season as a fifth-year senior, and is coming off a season in which he completed 61.5 percent of his passes for 2,555 yards and 24 touchdowns.
