Duke freshman Zion Williamson left just 33 seconds into Wednesday's highly anticipated matchup with North Carolina with a knee injury and was later ruled out for the remainder of the contest.

The 18-year-old's left foot slid on the hardwood as he was trying to plant, causing his Nike shoe to fall apart and right leg to give out under him.

Williamson went to the bench, where he was looked at by coaches and trainers before making his way to the locker room.

The projected No. 1-overall pick is averaging 22.4 points, 9.2 rebounds, 2.3 assists, 1.9 blocks, and 2.3 steals on 68.3 percent shooting across 25 appearances for the Blue Devils.
