Thunder's Jalen Williams out week-to-week with hamstring strain

Oklahoma City Thunder wing Jalen Williams has been diagnosed with a Grade 1 hamstring strain and will be re-evaluated weekly, the team announced Thursday.

Williams suffered the injury Wednesday midway through the third quarter of Oklahoma City's 120-107 Game 2 win over the Phoenix Suns. Though he initially remained in the contest for a few more possessions, Williams exited after fouling Devin Booker.

Williams posted 41 points, 10 assists, and eight rebounds while shooting 16-of-26 (61.5%) through two postseason games. During the regular season, the 24-year-old tied Chet Holmgren (17.1 points) as the Thunder's second-leading scorer behind Shai Gilgeous-Alexander.

Williams is likely to miss Game 3 Saturday in Phoenix, where a Thunder victory would give them a convincing 3-0 lead in the first-round series. The Suns also host Game 4 on Monday, with Game 5, if necessary, returning to Oklahoma City on Wednesday.

The winner will advance to face either the Los Angeles Lakers or Houston Rockets in the second round. The Lakers took a 2-0 series lead Tuesday.
