Holiday available for Game 1 vs. Knicks, Celtics at full strength

Boston Celtics guard Jrue Holiday is cleared to return for Monday's Eastern Conference semifinals opener against the New York Knicks, the team announced Sunday, citing a clean injury report.

Holiday, 34, missed the final three games of Boston's first-round series over the Orlando Magic with a hamstring strain.

The two-time All-Star averaged 11.1 points, 4.3 rebounds, 3.9 assists, and 1.1 steals in 62 starts this season.

In Games 1 and 2 against Orlando, Holiday scored a combined 20 points and dished 11 assists while shooting 7-of-15. He went 3-of-4 from distance in Game 1 - his only made field goals - but missed all three of his 3-point attempts in Game 2.

The Celtics' clear report also suggests that Celtics wing Jaylen Brown has recovered from his lingering knee issue. Brown was listed as questionable with a right knee posterior impingement for the same games Holiday missed but played in all three, averaging 21 points and 7.7 rebounds as the Celtics closed out the Magic in five games.

The issue limited Brown during the second half of the regular season, during which he missed 10 of the Celtics' 27 games after the All-Star break.

Monday will mark Boston's first postseason meeting with New York since the Knicks won their 2013 first-round series in six games. The clubs haven't met in the conference semifinals since 1984, when the Celtics, led by Larry Bird, won the series 4-3.
