Edwards eligible to play vs. Jazz after NBA rescinds technical
Minnesota Timberwolves star Anthony Edwards will be eligible to play Sunday against the Utah Jazz after his 18th technical foul of the season was rescinded by the league.
Edwards received his 18th tech in Friday's win over the Brooklyn Nets after complaining about a foul call.
NBA rules state any player who reaches 16 technical fouls during the regular season must serve a one-game suspension and every two subsequent technicals will trigger another one-game ban. Edwards served a suspension for his 16th technical as the Timberwolves lost to the Jazz on Feb. 28.
Edwards is the T-Wolves' top scorer, averaging a career-high 27.4 points per game. He's also shooting a personal-best 39.5% from three.
The Timberwolves have an opportunity to clinch a top-six seed in the West and avoid the play-in tournament with a win Sunday.
Minnesota currently sits seventh in the West at 48-33.
