Redick doesn't know when LeBron will rejoin Lakers
Los Angeles Lakers coach JJ Redick is unsure when LeBron James will rejoin the team, according to The Athletic's Jon Krawczynski.
James has been ruled out Friday against the Minnesota Timberwolves because of left foot soreness.
The NBA's all-time leading scorer has been absent from the Lakers' facilities since missing his first game of the season Sunday in a win over the Portland Trail Blazers. Redick described it as an “excused absence.”
He was ruled out of that game with foot soreness also, but Redick said it was a good chance for James to get some extra rest.
Redick said earlier this week that James has been feeling the effects of "playing a lot of minutes." He added that the Lakers will be more cognizant of the 39-year-old's health and durability for the remainder of the campaign.
James is in Year 22 in the Association and is averaging 23 points, eight rebounds, and 9.1 assists while still logging 35 minutes a night through 23 games.
The four-time MVP's next chance to return will be Sunday against the Memphis Grizzlies.
