Report: Durant out at least 1-2 weeks with ankle sprain
Phoenix Suns veteran Kevin Durant will miss one-to-two weeks after suffering a left ankle sprain during Tuesday's NBA Cup meeting with the San Antonio Spurs, sources told ESPN's Shams Charania.
Durant picked up the injury with 4:30 left in the second quarter when he landed on the foot of Spurs forward Julian Champagnie. The 14-time All-Star exited shortly thereafter and was eventually ruled out for the remainder of the game.
"He stepped on somebody's foot in transition, and at halftime, it stiffened up," Suns coach Mike Budenholzer told NBA.com following the 104-93 victory over the Spurs.
Durant has missed seven of Phoenix's 20 games this season after a calf injury ruled him out for a stretch in mid-November. The Suns are 11-2 with him in the lineup and 1-6 in his absence.
The 36-year-old is averaging 25.8 points and 6.7 rebounds this season, his 16th campaign in the NBA.
