NBA Tuesday In-Season Tournament best bets
We went 3-1 on Monday night to get our week started right. Only five games are scheduled for Tuesday night's In-Season Tournament action, but here are our three best bets.
Kevin Durant: Over 4.5 assists
Kevin Durant is as dominant offensively as anyone in the league this season. The Suns have won three straight and are finding their groove with Devin Booker back in the lineup.
Durant's averaging 31.4 points per game and the 5.5 assists he's averaging put him on pace for his highest mark since 2021-22.
Without a true point guard in the fold, Durant and Booker have made creating opportunities for their teammates a higher priority. When so much of the defensive attention is on those two, secondary players are often left open.
Durant dished out at least five assists in six of his last seven games.
Odds: -125 (playable to -150)
Hawks team total: Over 127.5 points
The game total set for the Hawks versus Pacers matchup Tuesday night is 251.5, an astronomically high number. The Hawks are 3.5-point favorites, so playing their team total over is safer than the game over.
The Pacers are an offensive juggernaut - but they run virtually no defense. They have the NBA's best offensive rating and fifth-worst defensive rating.
These teams also both play fast and like to push the ball in transition. The Pacers rank first in pace, while the Hawks rank third.
There will be a ton of opportunities for the Hawks to score in a fast-paced environment against a porous defense.
Odds: -110 (playable to -130)
Deandre Ayton: Over 9.5 rebounds
Deandre Ayton is returning to Phoenix to compete against his former team for the first time. There was some bad blood between Ayton and the Suns over the years, so he should be extra motivated to dominate on Tuesday night. Ayton is at his best when he's controlling the glass and letting scoring opportunities come to him.
Ayton's averaging 11 rebounds per game this season with the Blazers and has secured at least double-digit boards in seven of his last 10 games.
Other than Jusuf Nurkic, the Suns don't have a lot of center depth - which should allow Ayton to take advantage of the boards.
Odds: -125 (playable to -140)
